The Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club’s Championship Golf Course Has Reopened

The Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club's championship golf course has reopened, and it is even better than ever. Built in 1927, the course is Naples' original golf course. Updated over the years - first by Mark Mahanna in 1948, then by famed golf course architect Ron Garl in 1980, 1993 and 1998. The course was closed from June 6 through September 2, 2011 in order to undergo additional enhancements to those made during the summer of 2010.
Today, the 18-hole, par-72 championship course now boasts new grass on all of the fairways that, along with the enhancements in the summer of 2010 which included new grass on 12 of the greens, and on all 18 tee boxes, and new bridges over some of the course's water features, completes the overall golfing experience. The Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club is, in my opinion, one of best golf, or family, destinations on Florida's southwest coast. J.W. Marriott Camelback Resort and Spa, Scottsdale, AZ

The J.W. Marriott Camelback Resort and Spa, Scottsdale, AZ, has to one of the golf destinations to one the Bucket List. I first visited Camelback in 1984. It was an amazing resort even then. Today, it's even more so. In addition to the grand resort, and I do mean "grand," the two 18-hole championship golf courses offer us a vacation to remember. Geeze, I love that desert golf and, if I could persuade you to give Camelback at try, I would certainly do so; you gotta give it some thought, ok? In the meantime, you'll find all the information about the resort and its golf courses by reading my full review of the Camelback Resort and Spa.

The 2012 Players Tournament - Play Begins Today

Play begins today at the TPC Players Tournament. The image above shows a happy Tiger Woods on the 18th green during the practice rounds at TPC Sawgrass in 2011. Sad to say, the happy mood did not last: he didn't make it past the first day of tournament play before being forced drop out through injury. If you've never visited Sawgrass, you've missed quite a spectacle. The Pete Dye TPC Sawgrass stands alone as the best in golf course design. Everyone knows about the fantastic 17th Island Green at the Sawgrass TPC Stadium Course but few have seen the rest of the course, except maybe when watching the TPC Tournament on TV. The course as a whole, though, is incredible. Here's your chance to judge for yourself. TPC Sawgrass Photo Gallery.

All You Need To Know About Vacationing in Destin and Fort Walton Beach

All you need to know about vacationing in Destin and Fort Walton Beach! That's quite a claim right? And so it is. The thing is though, I've spent more time in Destin and Fort Walton than I have in any other part of the world, with the exception of my home town in Tennessee and the little town in England, where I grew up, so I know a little bit about the area. Not only that, I love it down there. Golf aside, Destin and Fort Walton Beach have a lot to offer the vacationing public. Nice hotels and resorts; pristine, white sandy beaches; great food, lots of places to eat; and lots to see and do, including golf, deep sea fishing or just loafing around and working on the tan. If you're planning a vacation to Destin and Fort Walton, here 's the information you'll need to do it.
