Located in Tucson, Arizona, and designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in 1995, the Arizona National Golf Course is nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains adjacent to the Coronado National Forest. Jones took full advantage of the natural flow of the terrain and designed the course around nine natural springs, intimidating craggy outcrops of rock, shady, mesquite-lined arroyos and some of the most beautiful and spectacular scenery to be found anywhere in the Southwestern USA.

Formerly known as the Raven at Sabino Springs, Arizona National is a land where giant saguaros - huge cactus that grow up to 10 feet tall - stand like lonely sentinels on the stark desert landscape against a backdrop of panoramic mountain vistas.

The Arizona National Golf Club is a classic desert layout of slightly more than 6,780 yards. The layout is a tough one, but not unfair. It offers an equal challenge – depending upon the choice of tee box – for golfers of all levels of skill, but the choices you make will need to be considered with care. A wayward ball almost anywhere on the course is bound for trouble. Conservative play, however, is not always the answer: playing short can often create problems unforeseen. Take advantage of the GPS system to plan your shots – the GPS graphics and distances given are accurate, not like some I’ve seen in the not-too-distant past.

Amenities include the Wildcat Grill restaurant, full practice facilities, and a fully-stocked pro shop. Need a lesson? You can’t do better than to arrange a session with PGA Teaching Professional, Mark Jackson – 520-749-3519 ex 401.
