The Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale, a desert oasis set on 128 lush acres what once was an orange grove, is probably not one of Arizona's best known golf vacation destinations. It is, however, one you should seriously consider.
Orange Tree has a beautifully maintained, Parkland-style 18-hole USGA-rated championship golf course designed by Johnny Bulla. This resort course was once the heart of an exclusive private club. The fairways are tight and lined with mature trees thus they require precision shot-making. Four lakes, in play on five holes, add to the challenge. The terrain is mostly flat, and bunkers guard every green. The rates are reasonable for the Scottsdale area and are even reduced on or around April 15th and again during the summer.
Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale offers a wide variety of dining and entertainment choices, more than 14,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, a fitness center, a swimming pool highlighted by cascading waterfalls, palm trees and exquisitely landscaped, flower-filled gardens, and all of this in the heart of the American Southwest.
Accommodations include 160 spacious, air-conditioned, non-smoking suites are exquisitely decorated in traditional southwestern style. The extra large living and sleeping areas are complemented with luxurious amenities, and each suite opens onto a terrace with breathtaking views of the surrounding desert. Each suite features a two-person whirlpool tub.
Beyond the resort, you can explore the stunning beauty of the Scottsdale area and the Sonoran desert, go river rafting, hot air ballooning, shopping, visit art museums, the Phoenix Zoo and the majestic Grand Canyon.
For corporate meeting planners, Orange Tree would seem to be an ideal venue for an incentive getaway or convention.
The ambiance, first class amenities, golf course and Southwestern location are just a few of attractions that, in my opinion, make the resort and ideal destination for intimate getaways, family vacations, golf outings, business meetings, and special events in Arizona.
