Ristorante Premavera - Bermuda

By , About.com Guide

Ristorante Premavera, 69 Pitts bay Road, Hamilton, Bermuda, 441-295-2167.

This is an upscale Italian restaurant set in a villa. The atmosphere they are trying to recreate – and they do so very well – is reminiscent of the fields of Tuscany.

Traditional Italian cuisine is Premavera’s specialty. If you like this type of cuisine, Premavera will not disappoint you. All of the dishes you would expect in such a restaurant, and some not so well-known fare, are served along with a variety of fresh seafood dishes, including mussels, soft shell crab, clams and lobster. If you’re in doubt, I can recommend the Veal Scaloppine al Limone, thin veal slices in lemon butter sauce - $28.50, and the Zuppa di Pesce alla Livornese, a seafood casserole with mussels, clams, shrimp, scallop, fish fillet sautéed with garlic, olive oil and tomato sauce - $36.75; Kinda makes the mouth water just writing about it.

Oh, and to start, you might like to try the “Boned Poached-Grilled Quail” with a honey mustard dressing – it’s a real experience - $13.75.

A jacket is suggested, but not required. Reservations are always a good idea. The restaurant is open seven days for lunch from 11:30am until 2pm, and for dinner from 6:30pm until 10:30pm.
