The Four Seasons Resort Exuma at Emerald Bay in the Bahamas, offers a spectacular new 18-hole championship course designed by golf legend, Greg Norman. Greg has used an environmentally friendly seashore paspalum grass, which offers a lush, deep green canopy upon which the ball sets high for a teed up shot almost every time. The Four Seasons Resort Exuma at Emerald Bay is destined to become one of the world's most popular ocean-side golf destinations.

The Course is a long Par 72 - approximately 7,200 yards - and was designed by Norman to bring into play the bump and run shots around the greens seen so often in championship play on the great links courses in Scotland. The layout is, as always on a Greg Norman course, tough with undulating bunkers guarding both fairways and green.

The fairways wind through seaside dunes along the oceanfront to finish on a rocky peninsula with a spectacular view of the ocean. Six signature holes hug the perimeter of Emerald Bay's scenic peninsula - the views across the bay and its turquoise waters are nothing short of spectacular.

The Four Seasons Resort at Emerald Bay is expensive but, as always, you get what you pay for. The hotel is modern and well appointed. Golf & Spa packages for individuals and groups are available starting around $625 per night per person, depending upon the season.

Beyond Golf:

As always, if this is to be a family vacation, there has to be plenty for everyone to see and do. The Islands of the Exumas can certainly do that. The beaches are, for the most part deserted, the fishing extraordinary, the sight seeing extensive, and the snorkeling and diving around the islands are, arguably, the best anywhere.

How to get There:

The Islands of the Bahamas are served by two international airports: Nassau International Airport and Grand Bahama International Airport. These two airports are served by almost all of the US domestic airlines as well as airlines from Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Travel to the Out Islands of the Bahamas is achieved via Bahamasair. Bahamasair offers regular scheduled service to the Abacos, Exumas, and most of the smaller inhabited islands.

Travel to the Abacos and The Exumas can also be achieved via the Fast Ferry from Potter’s Cay in Nassau – daily scheduled service is available. This is a great way to visit the Out Islands. I highly recommend it.

Rental cars are readily available at both international airports.

Look for the best airline and car rental deals with these two aggregators, which provide travelers with an up-to-date search tool to compare prices on airfares and car rentals of all ratings:

I truly hope that you enjoy your visit to the Bahamas as much as I always have.

And don’t forget: there are many other opportunities for great golf all over the world. Favorite locations include Scotland, Florida, the American Southwest, Bermuda, the Bahamas and many more. For up-to-date golf travel news and information, be sure to Subscribe to my weekly Newsletter.
