The Newport Room at the Southampton Fairmont Hotel, Bermuda, 441-238-8000, has long been regarded as Bermuda’s premier dining experience – it’s the only AAA 5-diamond-rated restaurant outside of the United States. The menu features a combination of contemporary French cuisine with the finest of wines, all presented with style and elegance.
The décor is nautical - an elegant, luxury yacht-styled environment. The Newport Room is reminiscent of good times in Bermuda now long gone, the atmosphere is one of nostalgia, recalling scenes from the famous Newport Bermuda sailing races that began in 1938 from Newport, Rhode Island and are still held today.
Men are required to wear jackets; a tie is suggested, but not madatory, and reservations are a must. The Newport Room is somewhat understated, and it’s certainly not for everyone. If, however, you’re looking for that one-off, romantic dinner…. Open for dinner daily from 6:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
