Pelican Bay at Lucaya is a small hotel situated right at the center of Grand Bahama Island’s action. Only steps from the restaurants and entertainment center that Port Lucaya has become, Pelican Bay is THE inexpensive alternative to the Westin/Sheraton Our Lucaya Resort just the other side of the street. And when I say inexpensive, I don’t mean cheap. The hotel offers every type of luxury accommodation from the standard garden view hotel room to the luxury grand suite, and at prices that the average family can easily afford. Pelican Bay is a great alternative venue for that “once-in-a-lifetime” family golf vacation.
A mixture of Caribbean island flavor and European architecture combine to create the Pelican Bay Hotel and Suites. It’s a unique Bahamas hotel renowned for its hospitality and attention to detail – they even deliver fresh pastries and a copy of the New York Times Fax to your door each morning, and breakfast daily is included in the rate, and that’s a real deal maker.
Located within steps (really, just steps) of the Pelican Bay resort are over 30 restaurants, bars, shops, nightly live entertainment, the Dolphin Experience, scuba diving, snorkeling, and deep-sea fishing. Immediately across the street are two miles of white sand beach, a full service spa, all four "Grand Slam" surface tennis courts and a casino.
One of Grand Bahama Island's, and Freeport’s, newest boutique hotels, the Pelican Bay at Lucaya hotel is a combination of Caribbean and European architecture and service. Awarded the prestigious "Small Treasures of the Bahamas" designation by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, the Pelican Bay at Lucaya hotel and suites are both charming and intimate.
The Pelican Bay Hotel/Resort is my personal recommendation for a family Golf in the Bahamas vacation.
Having said that, why not Compare Prices?
How to get There:
The Islands of the Bahamas are served by two international airports: Nassau International Airport and Grand Bahama International Airport. These two airports are served by almost all of the US domestic airlines as well as airlines from Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe.
Travel to the Out Islands of the Bahamas is achieved via Bahamasair. Bahamasair offers regular scheduled service to the Abacos, Exumas, and most of the smaller inhabited islands.
Travel to the Abacos and The Exumas can also be achieved via the Fast Ferry from Potter’s Cay in Nassau – daily scheduled service is available. This is a great way to visit the Out Island. I highly recommend it.
Rental cars are readily available at both international airports.
Look for the best airline and car rental deals with these two aggregators, which provide travelers with an up-to-date search tool to compare prices on airfares and car rentals of all ratings:
I truly hope that you enjoy your visit to the Bahamas as much as I always have.
