Dining at The Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate: As you would expect of a major resort, the options at the Omni Orlando Golf Resort at ChampionsGate are varied and extensive. With three full-service restaurants, three casual bars and grills, and the ChampionsGate Clubhouse providing meals of one sort or another from 6:30am through 2am, there’s no reason why you should go hungry.
Trevi’s: With its Italian garden atmosphere and Mediterranean-style dishes, Trevi's is the least formal of the three restaurants. Open 6:30am until 10pm, it’s also the easiest choice for your three squares on any given day - no waiting at all. You can even request to sit at one of a pair of chef’s tables and watch your meal being prepared. The breakfast bar is extensive and, even when I arrived somewhat late, the food was warm and fresh, the scambled eggs light and fluffy, the bacon crisp, and the sausages plump and juicy. The lunchtime hamburger is large, juicy and well presented, and the prices are reasonable.
Zen: is an entirely unique experience. The restaurant features a menu of pan-Asian dishes and features a tiny saki bar and an upscale sushi bar. The dishes are presented in the style and tradition of the “upscale restaurant,” which was quite a pleasant surprise. Something I’ve never come across before is the Zen Experience – you get to taste a little of everything on the menu. The décor is oriental with Asian-themed privacy screens used to create separate dining areas.
David’s Club : is touted as a casual sports bar and grill, but I found it to be more in the tradition of an upscale, English Gentleman’s Club. The furnishings feature dark wood and overstuffed leather chairs and the atmosphere is one of quiet elegance. True, the three plasma TVs, Foosball table and electronic darts seemed a little out of place, but popular nonetheless. The cuisine tends toward steak and seafood. The service is excellent and the prices are on the upside of average. David’s Club seems to be striving to create “the traditional golf club experience,” and I think they’ve pulled it off. I highly recommend it.
The Broadway Deli : is quick and easy and offers a wide variety of snacks and refreshments. Just the option you need when on the way to the pool, cabana, or the golf course.
The Lobby Bar : is… well, the bar in the lobby. It seems to be the place where the conventioneers gather to discuss the day’s proceedings, so from 4pm until maybe 5:30pm it can be very busy. I found it a great place for a quick beer and a burger and a place to flop for a few quite minutes.
Croc’s : poolside bar and grill caters to the crowds around the pool – burgers, salads, fancy drinks etc.
The ChampionsGate Golf Clubhouse Restaurant : offers breakfast and lunch served from 7am until 4pm. The lunch menu includes steaks and burgers along with a variety of salads and a range of BIG sandwiches that will leave you stuffed and contented. A really nice touch is the bagpiper that plays at sunset.
