The Emerald Grande Resort is Destin’s newest resort and condominium complex. Located at the foot of Destin's Marler Bridge in HarborWalk Village, just 4 miles west of the Mid-Bay Bridge, The imposing, Palace-like Emerald Grande Resort complex has become Destin’s landmark.

Situated at the foot of Mid-Bay Bridge, the Emerald Grande is strategically-placed at the northern edge of Destin, and in the heart of the attractions that form HarbourWalk Village. HarbourWalk is what I will always regard as “old Destin.” For more than 30 years I've been visiting Destin. When I first arrived in what has now become HarbourWalk, it was no more than a sleepy little fishing village on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It was, back then, one of Florida’s best-kept secrets. The HarbourWalk was Destin’s “Fisherman’s Wharf,” the place where the fishing fleet lay at anchor; a place where little beach-front shacks sold fresh oysters on the half-shell, and beer was sold in large plastic cups. It was a quiet spot on the map that, unfortunately, is now no more than a pleasant memory.

Today, the complex is all about commerce. The Grande is the focal point of what’s to become a vast vacation complex of condominiums, restaurants, pubs, shops and, yes, even a lighthouse overlooking the beautiful East Pass. The fishing boats on the wharf are still a huge part of what Destin has become. Today, however, those boats are for hire by the day and are but a small portion of a fleet of pleasure craft that ranges from 100-plus passenger party boats to rental cruisers.

My first impression of The Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village was one of awe. My second was a flashback to a 2205 visit to Atlantis on Paradise Island, Bahamas. The imposing building, somewhat reminiscent of the grand hotel on Paradise Island, and HarbourWalk, similar in concept to Atlantis Village, offer a unique Florida vacation experience with lots of fun and exciting things to do for the whole family. You’ll experience breathtaking views of the East Pass and the Gulf of Mexico from the vacation rentals and the sixth-floor Grande Vista Pool Deck, plus a whole range of amenities and extra touches guaranteed to make a memorable vacation:

  • Golf at Emerald Bay Golf Club
  • Emerald Grande Spa - Click Here

All the above is complimented by HarbourWalk Village and its attractions:

The closest regional airport is the Fort Walton Beach Airport. The airport is served by Delta, Continental, US Air, AirTran, American, Northwest, and several others.

Look for the best airline and car rental deals with these two aggregators, which provide travelers with an up-to-date search tool to compare prices on airfares and car rentals of all ratings:

Florida’s Northwest Gulf Coast offers an amazing diversity of golf courses and resorts to choose from. This is one I can personally recommend.
