The Palm Course at Walt Disney World - Walt Disney World’s Palm Course

The Palm Course at Walt Disney World is Rated One Of "America's Top 75"

By , About.com Guide

The Palm Course at Walt Disney World is rated one of "America's Top 75 Resort Courses." The Palms is also a Joe Lee design, featuring tree-lined fairways, elevated greens and tees, water on nine of the 18 holes, and almost 100 bunkers, all strategically placed to make your round as interesting, if not frustrating, as possible. Many of the players on the PGA Tour considered The Palm to one of the most difficult of tournament courses in Florida. Indeed, the 18th has been rated the fourth-toughest hole on the PGA TOUR. Golf Magazine also rated this course as one of 25 top resorts in the United States by giving its Gold Medal endorsement- the magazine's highest resort distinction.

The Palm" course at the Walt Disney World Golf Courses facility in Kissimmee, Florida plays 6,957 yards from the tips for a par of 72 . The course rating is 73 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Joe Lee, the The Palm golf course opened in 1971.

Where to Stay:

At one time or another, I have stayed at all of the Disney World Resort properties listed below. They all offer value for money, at least in terms of Walt Disney World Resorts, which tend to cost a little more than comparable accommodations off-property. All of them offer easy access to the four Walt Disney World Golf Courses, so it makes sense to stay on property if you can.:
