Duran Golf Club near Coco Beach on Florida’s Space Coast is a brand new golf club in the brand new community of Viera. The Duran Golf Club was laid out on what once was once a fertile sod farm. The soil foundation that once produced some of the finest turf in Central Florida is now the base for one of the region’s plushest golf layouts.

As with most of these central Florida golf courses, the layout is termed {links-style,” which basically means it’s more flatland than rolling hills. True, there is an element of “rolling” to the terrain, and there’s a certain of mounding been added around the large, undulating greens, but the layout is more in line with the lush parklands so prevalent north of Orlando. Duran is a land of sparkling lakes and ponds, sweeping doglegs, native landscaping, grasses, and palm trees. When the wind blows, it can play very tough, those same coastal breezes can add challenge and variety to the play, making the par fives true three-shot tests. When the breezes die down, however, you might just be tempted to go for those same, par-5 greens in two.

Course Specifications:

Duran Golf Course was designed and built by Chip Powell. The 18-hole, par 72 course plays 7,151 yards off the Champion tees. With four sets of tees to make play enjoyable to players of all levels of skill, however, low score are achievable, especially from the much shorter Blue (Royal) tees where the course plays just 6,312 yards, though still maintaining its par of 72.
