The "Gardens" at La Playa Beach and Golf Resort (my name for the imaginative landscaping around the resort buildings) are extensive and attractive. Ornamental pools and rock gardens, tropical plants, a Tiki Hut, palm trees and four cascading swimming pools are only a small part of the visual whole that is La Playa.
For those who love "spa," SpaTerre, by Noble House, offers a wide range of treatments and massages. There's also a well-equiped fitness center where you can work out, if you like. Though why anyone would want to do anything but relax at La Playa is beyond me.
All of the beach resort activities you’d expect to find at any world-class major resort are available, too. LaPlaya’s water sport amenities include peddle boats, sailboards, wave runners, kayaks, parasails, body boards, and more! The Tiki Hut provides a secluded spot to enjoy a cold beverage and sandwich. The four pools and their patios offer a quiet place to work on your tan. Poolside service unobtrusive, but there when you need it.
Better yet, La Playa is a private resort. You get use it and its facilities, including La Playa's Golf Course, only as guest or resort club member: walk-ins are not welcome. The overall atmosphere is one of quiet luxury and relaxation.
