Fort Myers Golf Courses & Resorts in Southwest Florida are open the year-round and you can pick your tee time knowing you'll be able to enjoy a leisurely round. From early May through October the courses in Fort Myers are rarely crowded and many of the area's private courses open their facilities for public play. 1. Beachview Golf & Tennis Club, Sanibel Island, Florida
The Beachview Golf & Tennis Club is open to the public and features five HydroGrid tennis courts and an 18-hole championship golf course that plays 6,400 yards from the back tees for a par of 71. It is also a member of Audubon International's Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. Its nature-surrounded course was designed by Ray Fenton and opened for play in 1976.
2. Bobcat Trail Golf Club, North Port, Florida
The 18-hole Bobcat course at the Bobcat Trail Golf Club in North Port, Florida, plays 6,748 yards from the tips for a par of 71, a course rating of 72.9 and a slope rating of 129 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Bob Tway and Lee Singletary, the Bobcat opened for play in 1998.
3. Copperhead Golf Club, Lehigh Acres, Florida
The 18-hole Copperhead course in Lehigh Acres, Florida plays 6,680 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 70.9 and the slope rating is 129 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Gordon G. Lewis, the Copperhead golf course opened for play in 2001.
4. Old Corkscrew Golf Course, Estero, Florida
The 18-hole Old Corkscrew golf course in Estero, Florida plays a long 7,393 yards from the back tees for a par of 72. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Corkscrew golf course opened for play in 2007. 5. Pelican Preserve Golf Club, Fort Myers
The Pelican Preserve complex offers a 27-hole layout: an 18-hole course and a nine-hole course. The 18-hole layout plays 6,850 yards from the back tees for a par of 72, a slope of 134 and a course rating of 73.2. The course was designed by Chip Powell and opened for play in 2002.
6. Raptor Bay Golf Club, Bonita Springs, Florida
The 18-hole Raptor Bay was designed by the inimitable Raymond Floyd. It plays 6,750 yards from the back tees for a par of 71 with a course rating of 71.9 and a slope of 129. The Raptor Bay 1 golf course opened for play in 2001.
7. River Hall Country Club, Alva, Florida
River Hall Country Club, Alva, Florida is sports a Signature Davis Love III design: his first in the Florida market. The layout stretches out to over 7,200 yards from the tips and adheres to Love's design philosophy.
8. Rotunda West Country Club, Long Marsh
This Ted McAnlis-designed course opened in February of 1999 and is enjoyable for golfers of all levels. Four sets of tee boxes provide course distances ranging from 7120 yard to 5257 yards.
9. Shell Point Golf Club, Fort Myers
Shell Point Golf Course is situated in Fort Myers on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River, and only minutes from the Sanibel Island causeway. If you’re visiting the area, this would be a perfect choice to include in your playing itinerary; the rates a among the best in the area.
10. Stoneybrook Golf Club, Estero
The 18-hole golf course at the Stoneybrook Golf Club facility in Estero, Florida plays a whopping 7,353 yards from the Championship tees for a par of 72 with a course rating of 75.8 and a slope rating of 141 on Bermuda grass.
11. Venetian Golf & River Club, Fort Myers
The 18-hole Venetian golf course plays 6,931 yards from the back tees for a par of 72, a course rating of 72.9 and a slope of 127. Designed by Chip Powell, the Venetian Golf golf course opened for play in 2003.
