Ah, tis indeed a real corner of the Old Country, and thats to be sure. Yep, to walk into Shenanigans is to walk into another word. The atmosphere is dark, the furniture is even darker and beer-stained by a million splashes and spills of Guinness and every other brand of ale from Harp to Killian's. Known around the Islands as THE Irish or Boston-Irish hangout.
Now, if you should get lost in the ambiance of the place and forget to order, the chances are youll be forgiven, for the atmosphere can be a little overwhelming, but you can bet youll be gently reminded, and with an all-knowing smile. When you finally do decide to order youll find the menu is extensive, not to mention mouth-watering. You can choose from surf and turf, French-style rack of lamb for two, seafood Newburg, and several different chicken dishes; theres lobster too and, that popular old Irish standby: Irish Stew. Most dishes, except for lobster, are inexpensive. Entrees range from $9 to $43.
Shenanigans is another great spot thats located just a short walk fom Our Lucaya and the Pelican Bay Hotel. Having been born and raised in the UK, you can bet I feel right at home here. The beer is good, the food is better, and the atmosphere is unlike any Ive found west of County Cork. Shenanigans is open for dinner only Monday -Thursday 5pm-midnight; Friday-Saturday 5pm-2am. Port Lucaya Marketplace. 242/373-4734.
