The Mountain View Course
Mountain View was home to the PGA Tour's Buick Challenge for more than a dozen years. One its most intriguing holes is the par 5, 15th where the threat of water looms over both tee and approach shots. This hole was ranked the fourth most difficult par 5 on the Tour by USA Today. The course has undergone extensive renovations, and the results are dramatic: new white sand bunkers, new cart paths and new tee boxes.- From the 7057-yard championship tees, the course rating is 73.7 and slope 139.
- From the 6630-yard white tees, the course rating is 71.9 and slope 134.
- From the 5789-yard green tees, the course rating is 68.2 and slope 126.
- From the 4883-yard forward tees, the course rating is 69.4 and slope 120.
The Lake View Course
Renovated in 2002, 18-hole Lake View is Callaway's original course, designed by J.B. McGovern and Dick Wilson. Cason Callaway himself provided the inspiration for Lake View's layout.
Lake View's challenge lies in its nine water holes and its landscaping of azaleas, dogwoods and seasonal flowers.
The renovations include new bunkers, TifEagle greens, new cart paths and improved landscaping. If you’ve not played Lake View recently, you'll find the changes quite pleasing.
