Callaway's Birds of Prey show is much more than just entertainment. The magnificent birds featured in these outdoor, free-flighted shows, demonstrate their strength, speed and natural instincts in a lakeside amphitheater that allows the creatures to swoop directly over spectators' heads. It’s a rare opportunity to see these magnificent birds up-close and to learn how the things we do can endanger them.

Most of the birds in Callaway's Birds of Prey program are unable to survive on their own in the wild. Many have been rehabilitated from injury; others were taken by well-meaning "rescuers" who found them and prevented them from fully developing their instincts and skills needed for survival.

All the birds in Callaway’s educational programs are held and handled under special permits issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Three to five birds appear in each Birds of Prey show. There are approximately a dozen birds in the program, so no two shows are exactly alike. When you see a show, you may be amazed and entertained by:

  • Bald eagle
  • Peregrine falcon (hybrid)
  • Harris' hawk
  • Great horned owl
  • Red tailed hawk
  • Barn owl
  • Eurasian eagle owl
  • African white backed vulture
  • Red shouldered hawk
