Belmont Hills Golf Club is a semi-private resort course, a demanding layout, heavily bunkered, with fast, multi-tiered greens overlooking Bermuda's famous turquoise blue sea. But it wasn't always like that. Although the club opened in 1907, it wasn't until 1915 that golf was actually played there. The old layout was essentially featureless, and archtect, Algie M. Pulley Jr., literally had to move mountains when he redesigned Belmont Hills Golf Club in 2002. The redesign was the most extensive golf course rebuilding project Bermuda has ever seen, and Pully changed the face of the landscape The result is 6,100 yards of tight fairways, heavy bunkering, and multi-tiered greens that will test and challenge your shot-making and putting abilities to the limit.
Pulley excelled himself. His golf course is a stunning, undulating layout that offers a testing round of golf backed by Bermuda's captivating beauty. The course features panoramic views of Hamilton Harbour and the Great Sound. The club claims that these are "the finest 18 holes on the Island." It's hard not agree with that sentiment.
Belmont Hills Golf Course was redesigned in 2002 by Algie M. Pulley Jr.,. The 18-hole, par 70 course plays just over 6,000 yards off the longest tees. The course rating is 68.4 with a slope of 130. The greens are Tiff Eagle Bermuda Grass and the fairways are 419 Bermuda Grass.
