The Pointe Hilton Phoenix, AZ ,Academy is the Hilton flagship golf school. Remodeled in the summer of 2006, it is celebrating its ninth season. The golf academy practice area boasts a brand new bunker along with its own pitching green and a separate chipping and putting green.. Course conditions at the Pointe Hilton Golf Academy guarantee a fun and memorable experience for all.

On-Course Instruction:

At Pointe Hilton they believe that one of the most important components in learning how to play the game of golf is on-course instruction. In order to ensure that students receive the most benefit from their time on the course, the instructors spend every afternoon on the course with you. You will receive a personal playing lesson with your golf school group every day that you are in golf school.

While you are on course you will learn how to manage your game, and will receive valuable information that just cannot be taught on the practice tee. You will be taught the Hilton Golf Academy’s Five Factors that influence every shot: Lie, Distance, Pin, Terrain, and Wind; they like to call it "L-D-P-T-W".

The Short Game

You'll learn why at least 65 percent of your game takes place from within 100 yards. Through intensive instruction in putting, chipping, pitching and sand play, you'll learn how to make those all-important shots and thus lower your overall score. You’ll also learn how the pros cope with the uneven lie, how to make those tough shots when the ball lies above or below your feet, and figure out the effect an uphill or downhill lie will have on the flight, direction, and the distance the ball travel.

Hilton Golf Instruction:

The Hilton Golf Experience Instructional Manual is comprised of the two components of the golf shot: the "setup" and the "swing". Students are taught how to build their personal setup to ensure consistency in each swing they make. The idea is develop each student’s setup and swing to work in combination with each other and thus create better golf shots for a more rewarding golfing experience.
