Aptly named the Garden Isle, Kaua'i is a land of serene beauty where every golf shot is an adventure into a magical kingdom of lush green fairways, velvet greens, and spectacular mountain and ocean views. Kauai is the quintessential golfing destination.

Where to Stay in Kaua'i

Set amid the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean, Kaua'i is the northernmost and oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. Located only 20 minutes by air from Honolulu, Kaua'i is an island of slightly more than 550 square miles that can only be described as paradise here on earth. Its lush, tropical setting, fabulous beaches, almost constant sunshine, temperatures that range from the low 70s to the mid 80s and the trade winds – balmy breezes – that blow constantly in from the ocean, make for an idyllic life, even on the warmest of days.

Kaua'i, sans the hustle and bustle of the Big Island to the south, has a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong, though; there’s plenty to see and do, even if you don’t play golf. Kaua'i is a terrific family destination. Surfing is, of course, what Hawaii is famous for, and there’s plenty of that going on in Kauai. But there’s more, much more. You can take an air tour, land tour, sea tour, go hiking, biking, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, scuba diving, whale watching, and horseback riding. You can rent an ATV, spend a relaxing day at one of a couple of dozen world-class spas, swim in the surf, go sightseeing through the mountains and canyons that gave us Jurassic Park. And, of course, you can play golf.

What to Do in Kaua'i

Some of the best golf courses in the world are to be found on Kaua'i. There’s something for golfers of all levels of skill: from the somewhat gentle undulations of Puakea and Kiahuna to the splendid sweeps of the Prince at Princeville and the glorious vistas of Poipu Bay and Kauai Lagoons, you’re sure to find a course, or two, that will live on in your memories until the end of days. Never have I seen so many grand courses together in a single location as there are on the island of Kauai.
