Now part of the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club complex, Kauai Lagoons Golf Club is seemingly far away from the busy streets of Lihue and its international airport. In fact, the club and its parent resort are only a couple of minutes away from both, though you'd never know it. Only a short walk from the resort itself, Kaua'i Lagoons is tucked away in a tranquil tropical setting against the magnificent backdrop of Mt. Waialeale.
You only have to step onto the first tee to know you're in for something special. A Golf Magazine "Gold Medal Golf Resort" winner, Kauai Lagoons Golf Club is famous for its 17th, "Lighthouse" hole. Although the famed Kiele back nine is closed for renovations, and will not reopen until next year, there are still 18 Jack Nicklaus Signature holes for you to enjoy. The Kaua'i Lagoons Golf Club is actually a complex of three nine-hole layouts. The Kiele front nine and back nine and the Maile nine, which was the former Mokihana back 9 - whew, I hope I got all that right.
Anyway, the fairways at Kaua'i Lagoons offer stunning views at every turn. The course is as relaxing as it is challenging. You'll see what I mean as you browse through the following images. Most are of the Kiele front nine, but I've also included images of the Kiele back nine, even though you won't be able to play it until next year - I include them simply because they are so beautiful, and will give you a glimpse of what's to come.
