Princeville at Hanalei has long been recognized as one of the world's premier resorts. The accommodations are luxurious, spacious and relaxing all with views that border on the spectacular. From my window on the 11th floor I could see the waves crashing ashore on Hanalei Bay beach. As dawn broke the mountains were rimmed with gold; when it rained on the second day of my visit, a rainbow crested the peaks and crowned the tiny village of Hanalei on the far side of the bay.
Princeville at Hanalei, back in the days when Hawaiians farmed in the green valley, was named for Hawaii's crown prince, Albert, the son of King Kamehameha. Princeville has been home to Sugar Plantations and Cattle Ranches.

You can lounge on the beach and play in the surf at Hanalei Bay, ride horseback through wide open pastures, browse the shops at Hanalei, visit the many natural wonders, spend an hour, or two, at the Princeville Health Club & Spa and, of course, play golf on two of Hawaii's best championship layouts: the Makai and the Prince Golf Courses. Finally, as the sun goes down you can sit, gaze up at the stars, and recall your adventures over a cocktail - the perfect end to a perfect day.
