Th 9th is long, uphill par 4. Three new fairway bunkers, one to the left and two to the right side of the fairway, have narrowed the landing area substantially. Most of the pros will try to hit their tee shot to carry the right hand bunker. If successful, they will shorten the hole allowing for a 9 iron or wedge into the green. If, however, they should find one of those fairway bunkers, they will be left with a difficult second shot over a big green side bunker that guards the entire right side of the green. Even on the green, things don't get any easier. It's lightning fast, and slopes from back to front: the pros must try to keep the ball below the hole.
