The 18th is one of the most beautiful, and the one of the most difficult, finishing holes I've ever had the privilege to photograph. The one you see here is just one of a dozen I made along the way. It was tough to choose just one to show you. The 18th has also seen it's fair share of drama, especially during the 78th and 82nd PGA Championships. Yes, it's a reachable par 5, but the tee shot is always difficult due to the narrow fairway. The pros will have to hit their tee shot into a tight landing area if they are to have any chance to go for the green in two. The second shot, should they make the first, is a tough, uphill approach over a large, green-side bunker to a horseshoe shaped green. Should they miss the green, they will be faced with one of the most difficult up-and-down plays on the course. The 18th at Valhalla truly lives up to the course's name.
