Review of Indian Wells Golf Club, SC, Myrtle Beach
The Links at Indian Wells Golf Club, Myrtle Beach, SC - A Review

By Blair Howard, About.com

Designed and built by Gene Hamm, the 18-hole, par 72 Course at Indian Wells Golf Club plays 6,624 yards off the Champion tees for a course rating of 71.9 with a slope of 125. Not a particularly difficult golf course, the Links at Indian Wells, could be called a “shotmaker's” course. It certainly has more than enough hazards to make for an interesting round of golf. The signature hole, the 6th, is a 484-yard, par 5. It could be reached in two off the forward tees, but the better play would be to lay up with the second and then make a short third shot over the lake to the green. The finishing hole, a 385-yard par 4, is one of the Grand Strand's “Dream 18,” and is regarded as one of the best, and toughest, holes in Myrtle Beach. Indian Wells, with four sets of tees to make play enjoyable to players of all levels of skill, offers something for just about everyone. Low scores here are definitely achievable, especially from the Gold tees where the course plays just 5,811 yards, though still maintaining the course par of 72.

Where to Stay:

Myrtlewood has its own on-site accommodations, and there are literally dozens of hotels and motels in the Myrtle Beach area. So no matter what your budget or choice in lodging, you can easily put Myrtlewood into your golf vacation plans. If you’re not thrilled with the idea of staying at a golf club, my own recommendation is that you try The Kingston Plantation. It's not too far from Myrtlewood and you can include the courses as part of one of their specials.

But why not check out all the options and Compare Local Hotel/Resort Prices

By Air: The closest regional airport is the Myrtle Beach Airport. The airport is served by Delta, Continental, US Air, SpiritAir, and several others.

Look for the best airline and car rental deals with these two aggregators, which provide travelers with an up-to-date search tool to compare prices on airfares and car rentals of all ratings:

Only in Myrtle Beach will you find such a diversity of golf courses and resorts to choose from. Indian Wells is one I can personally recommend.
