TPC of Myrtle Beach - Not Quite the Toughie We’ve Come to Expect fromTom Fazio

The TPC Myrtle Beach, on the Waccamaw Golf Trail, designed by Tom Fazio, is your opportunity to find out exactly what it’s like to play a top-flight, tour caliber golf course. The TPC Myrtle Beach has been awarded 5 stars by Golf Digest, and is the only course on the Grand Strand to receive such an honor.

The TPC of Myrtle Beach is the former host of the Senior Tour Championship, which means you now have the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of some greatest names in golf: Gary Player, Tom Watson, Ray Floyd, Lee Trevino, Lanny Wadkins and many others.

Course Specifications:

Not quite the toughie we’ve come to expect from master designer Tom Fazio, but the TPC of Myrtle Beach is well worth a visit. The 18-hole championship course plays a little shorter than most of its peers, just 6,950 yards off the championship tees with a course rating of 74 and a slope of 145. It’s also much flatter than the typical Fazio layout, but with towering old-growth pines, vast tracts of natural wetlands, and water in play on 10 of 18 holes, it’s not a boring layout. The grass is MiniVerde, the same as that used at the TPC Stadium Course - Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida. The greens are large – make that huge - fast, undulating and always deceiving. Five sets of tees make play enjoyable for players of all levels of skill. From the shorter “Forward” tees, the course plays 5,118 while maintaining its par of 72.
