Wachesaw Plantation East - Waccamaw Golf Trail

Wachesaw Plantation East - an Enjoyable Experience for Every Level of Golfer

By , About.com Guide

Wachesaw Plantation East on the Waccamaw Golf Trail near Myrtle Beach is carved out of gently rolling terrain. A heavily wooded, championship 18-hole facility, Wachesaw Plantation East Golf Club is built on the site of a former rice plantation and has been host to several nationally-televised, professional golf tournaments on the LPGA Tour: the 1997 Susan G. Koman International, the 1998 & 1999 City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classic, and the 2000 Kathy Ireland/Greens.com Classic.

Wachesaw Plantation East is a Clyde Johnston design. Johnson has succeeded in creating a small taste of Scotland here in Myrtle Beach. Johnson’s interpretation of Scottish design is evident in the traditional, dune-style mounding and rolling fairways that lead to the fast and true Tif-Eagle greens. The great natural beauty of the two plantations has been left virtually undisturbed: freshwater lakes and scenic wetlands, an abundance of indigenous wildlife, and an overall atmosphere of tranquil prevails to make for a relaxing round of golf on is certainly one of South Carolina’s best.

With five sets to tees and a professional practice/teaching facility, Wachesaw Plantation East provides an enjoyable experience for any level of golfer. Golf Digest's "Places to Play" gave Wachesaw Plantation East a four-star rating and the readers of Golf Digest chose Wachesaw Plantation East as one of the top 50 courses in the United States for customer service.

Wachesaw Plantation East Golf Club is located in the scenic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, just 20 minutes south of the Myrtle Beach International Airport.

Green Fees: From $57 to $137 depending on the time, day and season.
