Beachview Golf and Tennis Club on Sanibel Island in southwest Florida is one of those places I’d always wanted to visit, and that as much because of where it’s located as for the golf. Sanibel Island is a sub-tropical world with more than 15 miles of unspoiled beaches, 22 miles of bike paths, 50 types of fish, 230 types of birds, 250 types of shells and get this: NO stop lights. Sanibel Island is also home to two 18-hole championship golf courses, both sanctioned by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses protecting the environment and preserving the natural heritage of golf. Both courses are set among a beautiful natural, island backdrop. You might catch a glimpse of an Eagle or Roseate Spoonbill while shooting your best game.
Beachview Golf & Tennis Club is, in fact, a semi-private club open to the public. Their 18-hole, Par 71 championship golf course is set among some of the most beautiful scenic beauty scenery in southwest Florida, the center piece of which is the gorgeous Sanibel River. If you enjoy nature and wildlife, you'll love Sanibel, and Beachview in particular. The golf course is one of my own personal favorites, not as long as some, but it does offer an unforgettable golf experience for players of all skill levels. The layout and course conditions are well-maintained, as are the rest of the club’s facilities. And speaking of the facilities, it would be remiss of me not to mention the terrific Beachview Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant; when the golf is done and the stories are waiting to be told, this is a great place to tell them, and enjoy one of the best steaks I’ve tasted in quite a while.
The Beachview Golf & Tennis Club is open to the public and features five HydroGrid tennis courts and an 18-hole championship golf course that plays 6,400 yards from the back tees for a par of 71. The Beachview Golf & Tennis Club is a member of Audubon International's Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. Its nature-surrounded course was designed by Ray Fenton and opened for play in 1976.
Green Fees: The advertised rates are from $40 to $70, depending upon the time, day and season. Green fees are always subject to change. Please contact the course/resort for up-to-date information and tee times.

Well, as you probably know, there are a lot of options in the Fort Myers area. My own personal choice would be the Embassy Suites Fort Myers, Estero. It's predictable; you always know what you're getting and it's close enough to the airport and all the local attractions. Compare Prices for nights at Embassy Suites Fort Myers, Estero
