The Pelican Preserve Golf Club is located on the north side of Fort Myers. The course, all 27 holes of it, was designed by Chip Powell, long regarded as one of Florida’s top golf course designers. His design of the Pelican Preserve Golf Club complex features oodles of water hazards, acres of sand and numerous grass bunkers. His fairways are well-planned with generous landing areas and tempting approaches (don’t be fooled). The greens are contoured, but not excessively so, and the ball rolls true and fast on the TifEagle "Ultradwarf" surfaces. From the first tee, you’ll know you’re in for a treat and from there it only gets better. When you finally arrive the 444-yard Par-4 eighteenth, a really fine finishing hole that doglegs right, you’ll probably be wishing you had it all to do again: you either blew it or you’re looking at a card with a score to be proud of. Either way, the Pelican Preserve golf course will be one you’ll want to play again.
The Pelican Preserve complex includes an 18-hole layout and a nine-hole course (27 holes in all). The 18-hole course plays 6,850 yards from the back tees for a par of 72, a slope of 134 and a course rating of 73.2. The course was designed by Chip Powell and opened for play in 2002.
