At first glance, the Callaway Golf Hybrid Golf Travel bag seems like a great product, but I wonder just how well it will stand up to the rigors of airport baggage handling. The hard top helmet looks tough enough, but what about the rest of the bag? The system is designed to look and perform as a regular cart bag when the helmet is removed; so far so good.

The Hybrid has internal padding to provide protection for your clubs during transport. It has expandable garment pockets that can be opened to provide more packing space or closed to slim the bag to for smaller profile. The Hybrid certainly looks good, and I’m sure for road travel it will live up to expectations. My own experience tells me that golf bags – and that’s essentially what this is – do not travel well by air: baggage handling systems, so it seems, can rip apart even the most sturdy nylon luggage.

{p]My conclusions: the Hybrid looks good and, knowing Callaway's usually high standards, should perform well too.
