The Honda Classic has been a part of the PGA Tour since the early 1970s. Although it has always been based in Florida, it wasn’t until 2007 that it moved to the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens. Today, the tournament is played on the Champion Course, the site of the 1983 Ryder Cup, the 1987 PGA Championship, as well as the permanent home for the PGA Seniors' Championship from 1982-2000. The course underwent a $4 million dollar renovation in December 2002. Created in partnership with Jack Nicklaus’ and the Nicklaus Design Team, the layout plays a tough 7,048 yards from tips for a par of 72. The courses signature holes are 15, 16 and 17, fondly designated “The Bear Trap.”
The Honda Classic will be played at PGA National March 1st Week of March, 2013 including the practice rounds.
