I don't think I've ever played a more difficult finishing hole that this, the 18th at the Champion Course at PGA National Resort and Spa.
A huge par 5 of 605 yards off the new championship tee, this monster plays every inch of it. Trouble, trouble, trouble lies in wait the entire right side of the fairway from tee to green. The left side is guarded by a series of nine bunkers, every one of which is strategically-placed to gather even the best of shots. The fairway itself doglegs first to the right, skirting the edge of the lake, then to the left. The approach to the tiny green is fraught with danger - five bunkers guard the front, right and left. I'm proud to say (joke) that I managed a less than respectable 8 on this hole.
