This photo really doesn't do the hole justice. The 8th at Red Ledges is one of the most visually stunning golf holes I have come across. We asked Jack which of the 18 would he say was the signature hole at Red Ledges. He grinned and said the were all signature holes which is, of course, true. The 8th, however, is the hole from which Red Ledges takes its name: the red rocks that form the backdrop to the green.

The hole, a par 4, plays some 458 yards from the tips. It's a tough dogleg left culminating in an elevated green heavily guarded left and right by deep bunkers (that bunker at front left is huge, at least 8 feet deep). The approach, however, is more open than most. There's a chance here to play a bump-and-run into the green. Once on the putting surface you'll find it undulates only slightly and is fairly easy to read. Pick the right line and you can be confident the ball will roll true. The hole is fun to play and there's a real chance of making a birdie.
