Warrior's Path State Park Golf Course, a part of the Tennessee Golf Trail, plays some 6,600 yards from the tips for a par of 72 with a course rating of 71.5 and a slope rating of 123. Designed by George W. Cobb, the Warrior’s Path Golf Course is one one of those stunningly lovely spots in upper east Tennessee, almost in the foothills of the Appalachians, but not quite. The golf course is set upon the shores of Fort Patrick Henry Lake, and it is just as beautiful a spot as it sounds. The lake, the rolling terrain, the vast stands of tress between which the rivers of green fairways meander back and forth, each one punctuated by an undulating green, all gfo to make Warrior’s Path as much a scenic delight as galfing one. It’s no wonder, then, that the course is a favorite among golfers in the Tri-Cities area.

Even if you don’t go to play golf, I would urge you to try to visit Warrior's Path State Park. If you love the great outdoors, you'll love Warrior's Path because it offers a truly unique experience quite unlike any other in the state of Tennessee. The park was named for the nearby ancient Cherokee war and trading path, and it’s always been a popular destination for travelers, pioneer and modern. Today, the 950-acre park, once a part of the vast TVA preserves is popular not only with locals, but visitors as well. Situated on the shores of TVA's Patrick Henry Reservoir and the Holston River, it is one of Tennessee’s most picturesque state parks, its golf course only makes it the more so.

Green Fees: I never could figure out why golf at some of the grand resorts costs so much, especially when you consider green fees like these, must be the facilities, I suppose. Anyway, the fees at Warrior’s Path are as good a reason as any for planning a visit: The weekday rate for 18 holes, in season (March 1 through October), is just $17, with a cart it’s $32. On weekends the rate for 18 holes with a cart is $36. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Tee Times: You’ll need to book a tee time, 7 days a week. Tee times can be booked 6 days in advance. Call the number listed below.
