Hole 1 The Tortolita 9 at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain
The play begins fairly quietly on the Tortolita Course at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain with a long par 4 – the 10th on the Accenture Tournament and 493 yards from the back tees – that doglegs very slightly left. There’s a forced carry to contend with from the tee, and a deep waste bunker cuts across in front of the green some 10 yards from the front edge – no bump-and-run allowed here. The landing areas are generous but beware the fairway bunkers left and right. From the tips, it’s a tough hole; from the Blues, it’s not a whole lot easier (just a 22-yard advantage).
