Located just 10 miles north of Chattanooga, the Bear Trace at Harrison Bay, on the shores of the lake, is arguably the finest of Jack Nicklaus' five designs for the Tennessee State Park System. Probably its greatest asset, beyond the course itself, is the city. Rapidly becoming one of the Southeast's major tourist destinations, Chattanooga has plenty to offer besides golf: The Tennessee Aquarium, an I-Max theater, several world-class museums, symphony orchestra, two of the nations Civil War battlefields - Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain - and lots of fine dining.
